I just want to hear when, RGM again can delivers Part no 050006? Rearset for Featherbed.

Hello,we are no further forward really, I had a look at them a few times, have done a little, in a few days time or a week or so we are launching a new website, that has taken hundreds of hours, thousands really and when it launches it will need the same work again to get it right, I have done a little bit of work on the rearsets but not anything like as much as I should of done. It is a project I would really like to get into but time prevents much progress. Sorry but I will see what I can do.

QUESTION REARSETS
Received the Commando parts I ordered a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, as you said in the note which you included with the order that you were currently out of stock of the Commando Rearsets (050496 ) and would be making some more later in the year. Can you give me a time frame when that is likely to be? My Commando is a 69 Fastback with a72 Mk2 engine with the upswept peashooter mufflers. Would I be correct in assuming that these wouldn't work with the rod operated rear sets (050495 ) because of clearance problems. If they would fit, do you have any of them in stock? Failing that avenue, could you recommend any dealers whom may have any of your 050496 rearsets in stock. I was going to try the Colorado Norton works whom I believe sourced some of their parts from RGM but when I last looked are now marketing their own rearsets which are considerably more expensive. I had ordered a catalogue a few months ago and was impressed with your comprehensive stock list plus the prompt dispatch of my order which arrived in 4 days to where i live which isn’t exactly the centre of the universe.

Hello, Glad to hear the parts we sent arrived promptly. The situation with the rearsets is a bit complicated, we used to stock a range of basic rearsets quite cheap and cheerful but nice. that gentleman retired and sold his business, the people who bought it immediately doubled the price. At the same time we also made our own rather more expensive rearsets. Basically we ended up in the situation where we wanted to make some simple relatively cheap ones to replace the supplier we had effectively lost whilst at the same time get a look at our own rearsets to see what improvements we could incorporate. Time for a re-think if you like, the addition of our new kickstart we started making a few years ago actually made some of the functions on our own rearsets redundant, that's why I designed the new kickstart really. So I have ended up with the job of re-designing and tooling several different types at the same time. A medium job turned into a major one and we are permanently flat out. A lack of space also necessitated some new building work to separate the bikes and samples from machinery so we could test and measure things properly. That's all pretty much completed and we have laid out all the rearset samples and parts, that is as far as we have got. Right now we are building a couple of years worth of twin leaders and when that is finished we will be looking at the rearsets. The trouble is these projects have to be fitted around more normal day to day work. Often this takes up every available minute and its just the odd evening and weekend when we can get to look at them. Its something we really want to complete and it will get utmost attention but I cannot judge the workload so I cannot say exactly when. I do not know of anyone who will have them sorry, its a while since we delivered them. Sorry but its the best I can do.
